Favorite songs this month

Well... I don't post too often on this blog apparently. Let me just quickly go through all the music videos I've wanted to mention since last time. And yes, I know I'm super-late with most of them. (basically this will just be a post consisting of music videos and one sentence-comments.)

A-cha - Super Junior

I like the song, I really do, but the video just seems... I don't know, a bit boring? I'm a huge fan of SuJu and usually I love their "dance-only"-videos, but this one just seemed a bit pale compared to Mr. Simple and Bonamana. Like nobody really put in a lot of thought when they made it. I like Suju, but this video just didn't do it for me.

Get Out - JYJ

I love the song. I love the dance. I like the styling. However, I do not like the fancy car, and the close-up shots in the first verse. Am I over-doing it? Well I love JYJ so I think I'm completely allowed to complain about the little things. This is a great single, I love it. (If anyone wonders why I'm not mentioning In Heaven in this post, it's just because I'm not really into ballads. I like it, but I'm only gonna include my favorites right now.)

Beautiful Target - B1A4

Oh god this is just so silly. And weird. And absolutely adorable. I've been obsessed with song for the past few weeks, despite how incredibly silly it is. I like cute things, and this is just about how cute it gets!

The Boys - Girl's Generation

I thought long about making a separate post about this video, but I have a tendency to not write about things when i say I'll do it later. So here I go. First: I LOVE SNSD <3 With this new album it really feels like they've grown up, showing another side of themselves. i love the concept, the clothes, the coreography. The song is not my favorite though, but it does get better after listening to it a couple of times though. But I really like the direction SNSD is going. They're evolving, growing, showing their talents, and working really hard. I'm really happy with this comeback!

Love is Move - Secret

It's easy to forget about Secret as they are promoting in the shadow of Girl's Generation, which is why it's so important to bring them up! I love Secret, and I love this song. I really think it's their best song so far. It's a lot of fun, with a slightly more mature concept, but still playful and fun! Don't forget about Secret!

Cheerz - Simon D

I've been listening to this song constantly since it was released. it's just brilliant! It's not really my usual taste in music but it's just so good! Everyone listen to it!

Music videos!

Haven't we just been spoiled with music-videos lately?
In this post I will put some, but there are some I want to make separate posts for, so I'll save those for later with the hopes of having time to post more this week.

First we have Paradise - Infinite. What an amazing song! And such a beautiful video. I'm not going to lie though, one thing disappointed me about the video: the lack of dancing. I mean come on! Here you've got some of the best dancers in kpop, and you give them a video without dancing? The video is good even without the dancing, it just felt a bit like a waste. But I assume we'll get to see what kind of choreography they have in the live-performances. I'm really looking forward to that! Infinite just keeps growing to me, they have so much talent and potential. Hopefully they'll win something with this song as well!

Sixth Sense - Brown Eyed Girls. I love Brown Eyed Girls! And although I wasn't too exited after the first time I heard this song, it really grew on me quickly. Now I just love it, those high tones are just...wow! The Inkigayo and Music Core performances this week were quite amazing as well. I like that about B.E.G. They both sound and look great live, and I also like that they have a slightly more mature appeal than other groups (probably because they are older...).

Last but not least: Neverland - U-kiss. This song has already been out a few weeks but whatever. I really like it, it's kind of like what U-kiss has always been about, except the song is (honestly) better than before, and you know... two of the members are different (I still haven't quite gotten over that. Don't get me wrong though, I like both AJ and Hoon, but that doesn't mean I don't miss Alexander and Kibum!). It really makes me sad that they haven't won anything yet, because frankly I don't think they have a chance at winning now that both Super Junior and Brown Eyed Girls are back. And although I'm happy for Kara winning, it would have been nice to see U-kiss win as well!

Kara - Step

I have never been a huge fan of Kara. They're very talented of course, but their songs have just never been my style. Until this one!

I love Step! It's catchy and makes me superhappy. The outfits are cute and funny, and the choreography is good. It's my favourite Kara song since their debut! I really hope they will continue with this style of music.

What is a "good" fan?

What is a good fan? I don't think there is any correct answer to this. Who decides what a "good" fan is? All I know is what kind of fan I want to be.

1. I want to support my favouritebands without bashing others.
Just be supportive. You don't have to tell the world that you dislike someone, just be quiet if you have nothing nice to say. You do not feel better after upsetting other fandoms and starting fanwars. It's just ridiculous, and I always feel ashamed when I see fans of the same bands as me bashing others for no reason.

2. I don't want to judge my idols.
They should always feel encouraged by their fans, not suffocated or limited. They should be able to be themselves, as far as they want to be. When my idols are happy, I feel happy.

This is a very common scenario that happens every time a kpop-video makes it to the front-page of Youtube:
Hater: These guys are gay just like all other asians!
Fan: NOOOO!!! MY IDOLS ARE NOT GAY!!! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S GAY! AMERICANS ARE STUPID!

In this case, both the fan and the hater makes me ashamed to be human. Let's face it, both these comments are both racist and homophobic, and both comments are more hurting than encouraging. Super Junior are all in all 15 guys, and there's a huge possibility that one (or more) of them are gay. SNSD are 9 girls, why shouldn't one of them be a lesbian? Everyone isn't straight, and I wish all homophobic fans would just understand that!

Now this is what I mean by supporting and encouraging! Cassiopeia is beautiful!

3. I don't want to be a stalker. Idols should have the right to a private life. I see it like this: Yes, they indeed chose a life in the spotlight. They chose that as their job. But they are not always working, are they? When they are at public events, fans can take pictures and ask for autographs and scream and jump and be exited, and be everything that fans are. But when our idols leave work, we should leave them alone. When they're done for the day, they should have the right to a private life just like all other people have.
Now I get it if you see you idol walking down the street in your hometown, and you stop and ask for an autograph. That's normal behaviour. But to follow your idol around, and wait outside their house, that's not normal. That's not something anyone should have to deal with. Let them have a private life. Let them date whoever they want to date. Stalker fans do not encourage, they suffocate.

The other day I saw a Youtube-comment on the video for Ugly - 2NE1, that went something like this:
"2NE1 are sooo pretty, they shouldn't sing this song! Lady Gaga should sing it since she's so ugly!"
Honestly, what gives you the right to say Lady Gaga is ugly? She's beautiful as she is, just like 2NE1 are. I like both Lady Gaga and 2NE1, and I felt so offended by that comment. Bashing is so unnecessary!

Fans of every band, group or solo-artist should be nice and respectful to all. Of course, just people in general should be nice and respectful I suppose. Just care for the people you like. (And honestly, it wouldn't hurt to care just a little bit for those you don't like as well.)

Day 10: Mirotic

30 days of kpop
Day 10: A k-pop dance you'd like to learn.

I would love to learn the dance to mirotic. Not that I ever think I could.
Ah I miss DBSK like this...

Bad Girl - SNSD

This is, according to me, the best song so far by So Nye Shi Dae. I really love it! The chorus is catchy and the high notes sung by Jessica and Taeyeon are great! The choreography looks great and I really like the concept. As for the clothes I feel similar as I did to Super Juniors Mr. Simple: I don't really like the gray/black outfits, but the colourful outfits looks really amazing! Especially Jessica and Hyoyeon (I have a thing for red jeans...). The low sound-quality makes me a bit confused, but doesn't really bother me. Honestly it gives the video some character, like they're taking the "bad girl"-feeling of the song as far as possible!

I haven't talked a lot about SNSD before. But I really like them and appreciate their huge talent. I used to be a bit different though. Consider this as my apology to all wonderful sones out there:
I admit, I judged SNSD too quick. I put my trust in what other people said without thinking on my own, and I judged based on appearance rather than talent. I didnt like SNSD in the beginning. I don't know exactly why. It just seemed like a lot of other people hated them so I though "Well, I guess they aren't very good then." I should have known that a lot of haters doesn't make a group worth the hate.
It sounds strange to say I judged on appearance, but let me explain. I know SNSD are super-pretty so if I only looked at them I should have loved them, and maybe I would have if I had seen each of them individually. But I only saw them as a group. I saw nine girls in identical pink clothes (oh!), showing their legs, wiggling their hips in time with the music. And even before I started viewing the video I had decided I was going to dislike it. I know better now, and trust me, I am so ashamed that I judged them so easily. I was never a hater, I have never written a hateful comment about SNSD anywhere, I have just disliked them without reason.

If I could, I would apologize to every single member of So Nye Shi Dae, and also to every single one of their fans. I'm really sorry.

As I said, I know better now. I don't know when I started to change. But at some point I decided to give them a chance, and I am so glad I did. I realized that these girls were just as hard-working and talented as any other SM artist. I realized that if you looked at the right places, you could see them do complicated dances and sing very hard songs. I think what really made me love SNSD was when I realized that they weren't at all identical, as I had thought in the beginning. Sure, they often wear identical clothes on stage, but their personalities are so varied. Here is a link to the interview that got me to really understand that (in case anyone doubts me when I say they're very unique girls.)

I like them all and I think they're all very talented, but my favorites for now are Sunny, Tiffany and Jessica. I really can't tell you why, I just really like them!
I don't know exatly what I wanted to say with this long post... Maybe I wanted to help someone else, to not make the same mistake I did. Maybe I just wanted to say sorry. SNSD are wonderful, and I wish I could have known that earlier. Maybe I just love them.

Mr. Simple - Super Junior

I know I'm I bit late, and frankly I feel like it's too late to start reviewing this video now, when it's already been out for so long. But I love it so much. A lot of people seem to dislike it, most of them saying that it's similar to Sorry Sorry and Bonamana. I don't mind though. This is what a Super Junior-single sound like, and if you listen to the album you'll realize that there are also a lot of other kinds of songs on there.

I love the dance, it's really cool. I like some outfits, I'm not a big fan of suits honestly, but I love the colourful outfits! Also, I love the lyrics of the song. It seems like SM has had quite a few good lyrics on their songs lately, which makes me happy!
My absolute favourite moment of the song is Ryeowooks "alright" at about 2.50. It's the most sexy word he's ever sung... Yeah. It's hot. (I must have mentioned Ryeowook is one of my favourites, right?)

The live-performances of Mr. Simple have all been amazing, Super Junior always blows me away! I also love the song Super Man! And I'm really happy that they're doing activities as a group again, interviews with Super Junior are always so happy and joyful!

This article made me smile like a fool. Gaah! I wonder who's dating, and who they're dating. But most of all, I'm happy they're dating. They deserve a happy life. Sure, I wish Ryeowook would be dating me instead of someone else, but honestly, what kind of fan would I be if I wasn't happy my idol had a boyfriend/girlfriend? I'm happy when my idol is happy, even if he is happy with someone else. Therefore, I hope Ryeowook is in a very happy relationship with a very nice girl or boy (I honestly don't care about his sexuality. Why would I?)

Some people may not know this, but Super Junior used to be my favourite band in kpop. But then I discovered DBSK and Super Junior was pushed down to second place. But I still love them and care for every member a lot. I always wish them all the success they can get, and all the luck in the world. I'm thankful for their existance and proud to be their fan. I know I haven't mentioned them a lot on this blog, but never underestimate my immence love for Super Junior. <3

About Heechul enlisting in the army... When I read the news, I cried for real. Heechul was the person who truly got me hooked on k-pop in the first place, and I look up to him so much. Two years without him seems like a long time... I might write another post dedicated to this issue, but I make no promises (considering that post about summer-songs never happened...).

Anyway: Mr. Simple=total win!
